Posh Pages: Fifty Shades Of Grey - Beyond The Book.... Casting The Movie

TBooks2

Pic Above: My FIFTY SHADES collection - Note: Why the books and not on KINDLE? Well I'm a bit obsessed with the KINDLE. I purchase numerous books/novels on my KINDLE, however I also luv actually "reading books".  In addition, one of my fave decorating joys are lots of books on bookshelves. So I pick and choose what titles will be KINDLE purchases versus BOOK purchases. I know... it's cray. Carry on.

Since the firestorm of popularity the book series FIFTY SHADES by E.L. James created, I decided to begin reading the series and see what the hype was about. So I actually picked this series as my choice for my main blog's book of the month for June.

To date I've read FIFTY SHADES OF GREY [Book One] and FIFTY SHADES DARKER [Book Two]. The third and final installment FIFTY SHADES FREED is still sitting on my bookshelf, I will get to it at a later date.

F.Y.I. A week or so ago I finished reading THE LITIGATORS By John Grisham, an okay read. Currently reading "RAP SUPERSTAR" By Debra Clayton, this novel has been on the shelf for a minute, finally decided to give it a read.

Anywho back to FIFTY SHADES.

I must say as a whole based on book one and book two, FIFTY SHADES is a good choice for a summer read. A dark romantic read. A guilty pleasure if you will. Being that this was the author's first novel/series, I won't be too harsh.

At one point I was going to do a BTR rant about the series and the upcoming casting of the leads. I scratched that idea for a plethora of reasons and just decided to blog about it instead.

Upon reading book one and book two, despite the repetitiveness, that got on my nerves, I can say I was rooting for the characters Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele [Ana]. With all that being said the madness that jumped up in book two was crazy yet kept the story interesting.

Must say the writing was atrocious at times, but I digress. Ending book 2 was like a cliffhanger for me, book three, FIFTY SHADES FREED will be read at some point.

While many have panned the book as others have flocked to it, one thing is for sure, E.L. James is laughing all the way to the bank. With FIFTY SHADES officially being made into a feature film, the guessing game has begun on who should play the lead characters.

When A-list actor names began popping up as possible actors to play Christian Grey, the cinema geek in me was like WTF?

FIFTY SHADES is a summer fun read, but for someone to seriously utter the name Michael Fassbender as a possible 'Christian Grey' is ludicrous! Michael is a uber talented acting specimen, check out the films HUNGER, SHAME, JANE EYRE, X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, ETC. Thank me later. He does not need FIFTY SHADES on his resume.

Ironically the FIFTY SHADES' film has impressive attachments on the film thus far.

Universal Pictures and Focus Features secured the rights to the trilogy. In addition, THE SOCIAL NETWORK producers Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti will produce the film.

Now since FIFTY SHADES has TWILIGHT vibes, they [the Producers] should pick virtual unknowns to portray the leads. The film has already sparked the interest of the crazed surburban wives who are acting like FIFTY SHADES is their 'marriage savior', which I don't get.

Getting off topic one moment. Folks keep referring to FIFTY SHADES as 'Mommy porn' and saying it is too explicit to even have in some stores and libraries.

As I've stated, I've read the first two installments and aside from the BDSM madness, which I am not into, [and thankfully in book 2 the BDSM craziness was pretty much gone, hope I'm not giving away too much info in case someone chooses to read it who hasn't already done so] the overall sex scenes in the book were NOT that explicit or in need of banning. Hell I've read explicit scenes in books, this is tame.

[Actually I don't believe in any type of book banning, you can rate a book for age appropriateness but not an outright ban for folks who are of age].

So I was like, what the hell kind of boring sex life do these folks have?! If your calling this TOO EXPLICIT, that is quite pathetic.

Back to the casting of the film.... The powers that be need to scour and find two unknowns. The film is going to make money any way you cut it, so why not create the next KRISTEN / ROBERT craze?.... Oh wait. Oops.
